The Wound Treatment Center, LLC, at Opelousas General takes a multidisciplinary approach to wound healing through:
- Conventional wound care therapy
- Debridements (the removal of damaged tissue or foreign objects from a wound).
- Specialty dressings
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room to promote healing and fight infection).
- Compression therapy
Our unit is made up of professionals who work together to give you comprehensive treatments for wound healing. Doctors and nurses who have undergone special training in wound care are joined by nutritionists and other well-trained staff to provide services specific to wound care. Throughout treatment, your primary doctor will participate in your care and be kept informed of your progress.
Physicians can contact us to refer patients. Staff will schedule appointments and have referring physicians work with the
Central Scheduling Department of OGHS.
