The older we get, the harder it is to get out and stay active. Through the Life’s Champion program, Opelousas General Health System offers seniors in St. Landry Parish opportunities to socialize and remain productive.
Benefits of joining the free Life’s Champions program include:
Life's Champions was formed in 1985 to serve the needs of senior citizens. At the time, it was a new dimension in providing health information, resources and social activities for seniors. Today, members of Life's Champions, are presented with the latest health topics in the member newsletter and at the luncheons. Members also enjoy free health screenings at the annual Live4Life Health Fair held in January.
Life's Champions enjoy specially planned social gatherings, group travel, and volunteer opportunities offered to members. Upon registration, members receive a newsletter outlining all of the benefits of membership. Opelousas General Health System offers discounts to members for various hospital services. The program is offered free to local and area residents who are ages 55 and older.
