A telephone is provided for you in your room. Local calls can be made free
of charge by dialing “9” and the number you wish to call.
Long distance calls must be made collect or charged to your home phone.
For long distance calls, dial “9” + “0” and ask
to be connected with a long distance operator.
For your convenience, you may receive incoming calls in your room from
6:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. daily. Outgoing calls may be made anytime. Pay
phones are located in the hospital’s emergency center waiting room
and in our east entrance.
If you think you have lost something, notify your nurse immediately. For information concerning lost items, please contact the housekeeping department at extension 3974.
Personal electrical appliances are forbidden due to electrical hazards. Your cooperation is appreciated.
During your stay the hospital staff may have to practice a fire or disaster drill. Patients are not moved as part of any drill, so please do not be disturbed if you hear or see evidence of such a practice drill. If there is any danger for any reason, patients can rest assured they will be moved to safety immediately.
All campuses of OGHS are tobacco free as of January, 2009. This policy applies to everyone including employees, medical staff, volunteers, patients, visitors, vendors and contract staff. This includes hospital buildings, medical office buildings, OGHS leased or maintained parking lots, garage, grounds or sidewalks. It also includes hospital owned vehicles and any additional offsite OGHS locations.
We strongly suggest that you WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN have your visitor wash their hands and insist that Staff wash their hands before and after patient contact. Be sure to follow physician and nurses instructions for eating the correct diet, taking medications, and wound care. Get up out of bed as soon as the doctor permits to prevent pneumonia.
Linen changes occur when needed or per request of the family. Soiled linen is to be changed as soon as possible. If you should need any extra linen (towels, etc.) ask the nursing assistant or nurse.
