Opelousas General Health System Welcomes Hand Surgeon Dr. Tyler J. Tantillo to the OGHS Medical Staff

Lance Armentor, BSM, MHA, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System announces that Tyler J. Tantillo, D.O., joined the OGHS Medical Staff. He is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible orthopaedic hand and upper-extremity surgeon. His services will span general orthopaedics, with a focus on hand and upper-extremity conditions.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Tantillo attended medical school at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, New York, where he graduated as valedictorian. While completing his studies, he was inducted into Sigma Sigma Phi, the prestigious national osteopathic medicine honor society, and received multiple accolades for his academic achievements. He subsequently pursued a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine, Hofstra/Northwell Health, in Huntington, New York. As a resident, he authored numerous publications in top-tier orthopaedic journals, gaining national media attention. Prior to joining OGHS, he completed a fellowship in orthopaedic hand and upper-extremity surgery at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Tantillo joins Opelousas General Orthopaedic Clinic alongside Drs. Phillip Bacilla, Thomas Butaud, David Clause, Gary Porubsky and physician assistants Robert Genovese and Mark Nelson. The office is located at 4015 I-49 S. Service Road, near OGHS South Campus. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. Referral appointments can be made by calling the office at 337-678-4828.
