Chronic Total Occlusion Course
Opelousas, La.,11/20/13 – Opelousas General Health System and Cardiovascular Systems Incorporated hosted a “Chronic Total Occlusion” Course Tuesday in the OGHS Cardiac Cath Lab. Dr. Kalyan Veerina, Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Dr. Jay Venkat, Interventional Cardiologist, both with Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), and experts in techniques to treat complex vascular disease, taught the course. Physicians from California, Texas and Northern Louisiana attended this training in an effort to gain knowledge on treating their patients with very complex peripheral vascular disease (blockages or occlusions in the lower extremities) using the latest state of the art technology and techniques which are utilized daily at Opelousas General Health System.
These innovative techniques and procedures offer patients an alternative to amputation.
