OGHS Gears Up for Paint the Town Pink

Opelousas General Health System Paints the Town Pink

Opelousas, LA - July 12, 2013, Opelousas General Health System is gearing up for “Paint the Town Pink” (PTTP), this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We are inviting all of our community to join us in our efforts to support education and awareness of breast cancer.

2013 marks our sixth year anniversary of this initiative and the theme this year is “Paint the Town Pink, It’s a Hoot”.  Beginning October 1st, we will be selling breast cancer awareness t-shirts starting at $5.00 and $7.00 for 2X or larger at our Main Campus front Lobby.  Pre-orders are being offered for orders of 12 or more t-shirts.  We are asking everyone to show their support by wearing pink every Friday in October.

Sponsor opportunities are currently being offered for this initiative.  We are also sponsoring a bra-decorating contest.  A first, second and third place cash prize will be awarded.  A “pinkest” business and school contest is also planned for the month of October.  On October 18th, we will host a Pink Bag Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Evangeline Downs Event Center.  Tickets are $10.00.  Proceeds from the “Paint the Town Pink” initiative will support the free-mammogram program at Opelousas General Health System for men and women in the community who qualify.

For more information on any of our “Paint the Town Pink” activities, please visit our website at www.opelousasgeneral.com and click on the PTTP logo.  You can also call our PTTP hotline at 407-4591 or call Carol Duplechain at 948-5157.
