 OGHS Foundation Golf Tournament Raises $56K

            Opelousas, LA, March 24, 2015, The Opelousas General Health System Foundation Golf Tournament held Monday, March 23, 2015 was a huge success. 100 players from 27 teams filled the golf course at Indian Hills Country Club and over $56K was raised benefiting the Foundation.

            First place winners of the tournament were Nick Gachassin, III, Ben Gaines, Bob Hardy and Ted Hoyt from the Gachassin Law Firm team.  Second place went to the team representing St. Landry Homestead and third place went to the Pelican State Credit Union team 1. 

            Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the OGHS Foundation and will be used for scholarships for individuals pursuing careers in healthcare.  The scholarship amounts include full payment of tuition to LSU–Eunice, LSU-Alexandria, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, South Louisiana Community College-TH Harris campus and the Lafayette Campus for the approved healthcare related programs.  Scholarship applications for this year are currently being accepted.  The application deadline is April 2, 2015.  For more information about the Foundation Scholarships, visit us at www.opelousasgeneral.com
